CGI

CGI on my webserver allows me to do stuff that they have set up, but I cannot set permissions, so I will skip that part for now.

SSI

My web server does not allow SSI, so I tried it on my local ISP and with the .shmtl extension, it works. All test pages linked below. You can go to each from here, but they are linked sequentially from the first .html test page. Except for the last page (testing the back button), the links open in new windows, just close that window to come back here.

Test page adding a Header include from the Header page.

Test page adding a "Last Modified" include.

Test page adding a Footer include from the Footer page.

Test page adding a text message from a file outside the ssi folder. For some reason I get an error message. The text message is here.

Last Test page adding a "Back Button". Try it both from this page and going sequentially through my test pages.

This looks promising and if it worked on my "real" webserver I would probably be working on updating all my pages this way.
