Week 2 - Sparkles, Stars and Glitter

Making a Sparkle

Exercise: Create 3 different colored and different sized sparkles. 
Turn them into tubes. Image them and post to your TOE.

X-tra - Zip them up and offer as a tubes download to students. 
Post on your TOE.

The three large ones I made for this lesson, the other two purplish ones I made a while back, but they were made basically the same way. The green one I used two different gradients to fill the arms of the star, then used a drop shadow on the merged visible layer in a bright green. The twirled one was just that, filled, merged visible, then effect/geometric/twirled at 46.

Sparkle Animation

Northstar Animation using one of my Terragen images and some tube trees I did a while back.	A sunset image from a photo CD, all three sparkles rotated so that they change differently, and random stars added on each layer before animation.	A photo CD image that looks just like my cat, just sparkled her eyes with the white sparkle.

Mari's Glitter Text

Exercise: Using any font (or dingbats), create a word 
of animated glitter text. Post on your TOE. 

X-tra - Change the background colors of the gold glitters 
thus creating 3 new glitters. Explain what you did to change 
them. Use them to animate a dingbat. Post on your TOE.

My class screenname for the word as per lesson, then with the glitter recolored and using Night Sky font.

Gold glitter colorized at hue=181 and saturation=70 to get a purple glitter, at hue=103 and saturation=122 to get a soft green glitter, and at hue=0 and saturation=190 to get a bright red glitter.

I like the purple and used it for a celtic ding on a solid purple background.

One of Destiny's decorative dings, using all three new glitter colors, and bringing the colors down to 31 to reduce the size of the saved animation.

Maverick Queen's Glitter Buttons

Exercise: Create a set of at least 3 glitter buttons. Post to your TOE.

X-tra - Make them hotlinks on your TOE.

    
Not exactly a set, but one could be made quite easily by saving the basic layers in PSP format, then just recoloring the glitter layer and changing the text as needed.
Great way to GLITTER IT UP!!
