hellen5's Digital Art Homework

Here is what I started with, just shapes on one layer in PSP8 to give me a guide.

Using PSP8 and just the paint brush at various widths, opacities, and shades of blue and white, this it the basic bowl I came up with.  I've removed the background basic shapes layer I started with.  It is a start, but it needs more.

Here is the bowl completed in just PSP8 with a shadow and a background added.  It needs more definition to the "roundness" of the bowl, some shading inside maybe, and more definition to the outline of the bowl and the table edge.  I was just happy that it looked recognizable as the bowl I was working with.  This is the candy dish I use on my desk at work and probably too detailed for my first effort, but it's what I had handy when I had the time to work, and that is the angle I was viewing it from.  I will take a digital photo of the dish and post it here also.  I will play some more with it in PI8 at home as I get time to work, now that I'm starting to get a feel for the brushes in that program.  Oh, BTW, I use a mouse, no tablet.
