hellen5's LVS Digital Art Homework

Here's my pear sketch, scanned from an actual pencil drawing that I did.  It does look like a pear.

My start at painting it.  Still working in PSP8, I'm more comfortable working in this program.  Not real happy with the coloring, but it's getting there.

Lightened it up, added a stem and a shadow.  Oops, too much "halo" effect and the shadow doesn't look right.

Went back to the original painting and played with it some more, erased the halo again.  I did a little better on the shadow shape and made a little more solid stem, but the highlight is not right and that shadow has too much of the "eraser" overlapping in it.

I like this one much better.  I went back to the first painting and tried to blend the colors a little more, using smudge and soften, erased the halo again, then added a different stem and a shadow at a little different angle.

Redone following suggestions from instructor.  Added a background table and wall, softened the shadow a little more, added burn spots.  Better?
