Week 5 - Plug-ins

Assignment

In a paint/draw program, (or in Terragen landscape) make a "man made" terrain. It could be anything from a "field" to a "castle" or whatever inspires you. Then render it, and post the render. Also; describe "how you dunnit". :) Most of all... have fun.

Here are the two I originally worked on.  Using brushes in PSP8, came up with what could be a river or a "Moat" for a castle.  Using PSE2, I just used shapes that caught my eye and played around with softening, recoloring, smudging until I got an interesting terrain to play with that I call the "Paw Print".

After seeing some of my classmates images, I went back and played with some "manmade" buildings.  Used shapes and gradients in PSP8, being careful that the outer color on the circle matched the ridge color at the point they were to merge, which I call the mound (you will see why in the rendered images).  In PSE2, I used a hexagon making it smaller by the same percentage (except for the crown), then added a rounded rectangle for the "steps".  Each layer of the "Temple" is lighter by the same percentage of grey than the one below it.
